The Geetha Arulmohan Scholarship Award

The Geetha Arulmohan Scholarship Award is in the amount of $500. It is available to both Mercer County residents and individuals attending school in Mercer County, who are pursuing education, certification, and/or licensure in the fields of prevention, social work, counseling, or substance-related challenges (i.e. CADC, CPS, LCADC, CPRS, CHES, or Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, etc).
This education scholarship fund was created in memory of Geetha Arulmohan, who held the title of Executive Director of Mercer Council for over fourteen years, before her passing in 2017. It was Geetha’s personal mission to reduce the devastation caused by addiction in the Mercer County area; her dedication to her work was well known in the community. Prior to accepting the position of Executive Director of Mercer Council, Geetha had been employed at the Crisis Center at Helene Fuld Hospital, and at the Trenton Treatment Center, where she strengthened her extensive knowledge of mental health and addiction issues.
