2020 CADCA MID-YEAR TRAINING INSTITUTE
Cadca Mid-Year Training Institute
Members of the Mercer Council had the honor and privilege of attending the 2020 CADCA’s Virtual Mid-Year Training Institute. Barbara Sprechman, Amy Argiriou, Vanessa DeRosa, and Malissa Arnold spent the week of July 26-30th in intensive, informative, and enlightening virtual workshops. Attendees had over 80 training sessions to choose from. Topics ranged from the Science of Marijuana and Opiods, to Youth Vaping, to Coalition Sustainability and so many more. In addition to the workshops, keynote speakers presented each day. Dr. Bertha Madras gave an informative presentation on why Todays Marijuana is Actually an Emerging Drug Threat. We also enjoyed presentations from Dr. Nora Volkrow, Director, National Institute on Drug Abuse, Timothy Shea, Acting Administrator, Drug Enforcement Administration, and many more. An added bonus and special feature to the training were the 15-minute wellness breaks. You had the choice of doing a zumba or a low intensity workout, to yoga or a mindful walk, and to mindful meditation. Due to the training being virtual, attendees have the added benefit of viewing all the training workshops over the next thirty days. Covid-19 may have temporarily changed how we do things but the 2020 CADCA Virtual Mid-Year Training Institute was a huge success.
