A "wheelie" good time was had by all at the Bike Drive on April 9, 2022
On April 9, 2022, several Mercer Council staff members participated in the second annual Bike Drive hosted by Mercer County and the Park Commission. Bicycles were accepted (no matter the condition) and were transported to the Trenton Bike Exchange (located in Ewing, NJ). There, they will be refurbished by volunteers and then sold to the public for a low price. Proceeds from the sale of the bikes will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County.
MCADA staff members Vanessa DeRosa, Ruth Del Pino, and Angela Campos were each stationed at different locations and tabled the event. They assisted with the bike drive and distributed substance misuse prevention resources and promotional items to the attendees. Mercer Council would like to thank Mercer County and the Park Commission for their hospitality, partnership, and continued support of our organization!
Mercer County Park Commission
The aims of the Mercer County Park Commission shall be to provide recreation for all persons of all ages and creeds. To meet the recreational need as it exists and as it changes with the times and to serve, promote, encourage, and stimulate interests in leisure time activities for the benefit of the common wealth. To provide the general public maximum recreational facilities at minimal cost, in keeping with the governmental functions; to preserve open space for the conservation of natural, historic, and scenic areas; to assist in programs dedicated to the preservation of wildlife; to participate in soil and water conservation projects; and to provide areas, facilities, personnel, finance, program, administration, and leadership to the betterment of man and woman.
