Position Title:

PCMC intern

Core Responsibilities:

  • Compiling survey data and entry for evaluation
  • Research on local ordinances (including municipalities, schools, and more) and laws about substances, penalties, their governing bodies, and proposed changes.
  • Environmental evaluation with our youth group to determine what is "out there"- what customers are seeing and how products are being marketed.
  • Social media input, primarily for our youth and coalition including creating content for Instagram and Facebook posts, links to articles, and blogs in coordination with our Agency public relations department.
  • Creative input on programs to reach specific groups or discuss specific substances or other issues.
  • Promote resources for recovery and treatment, including the assembly and process of our START packets.
  • Input on changes that can be made on our handouts and resources, Prevention Hub and START Packets, including follow-up on links and contacts.
  • Tabling and outreach to the community to promote the Coalition or Council events and programs.
  • Coordinating and participating on service programs with our youth or coalition at large.
  • Updating and maintaining mailing lists and contact information for coalition members and contacts.
  • Assisting with the agenda and meeting structure for the monthly coalition meetings

Salary Range:

$42,000.00-$48,000.00 (depending on experience)

History of the Position:

Mercer Council has been providing evidence-based prevention curriculum for 45 years. The Preventionist is responsible for coordinating collaborations with community groups and recruiting participants for evidence-based programming, creating lesson planning, managing and facilitating K-12 evidence-based prevention curriculum throughout Mercer County.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate collaboration with Mercer County's agencies, government offices, other organizations to roll out grant-required programs.
  • Recruit participants for evidence-based programs.
  • Organize other staff members to assist with the programs.
  • Facilitates evidence-based substance abuse, mental health and violence prevention programs throughout Mercer County.
  • Responsible for keeping the fidelity of the curriculum, the coordination and design of classroom materials, pre/post tests, teacher packets and follow-up.
  • Implements all prevention activities of agency, groups and individuals to meet identified needs.
  • Maintains knowledge and develops expertise of existing evidence based or informed prevention resources and services.
  • Interprets needs, programs and services to agencies, groups and individuals involved.
  • Prepares programmatic and statistical reports and disseminates information.
  • Creates and maintains collaborative partnerships with Mercer County schools, administrators, and other school district staff.
  • Maintains consistent hybrid work from home/office hours to accomplish above.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (public health, psychology, social work, or education)
  • Pass background check and fingerprinting.
  • Confidence with using social media, blogging, Microsoft Software, YouTube, Google Workspace
  • CPS is expected as part of your professional development in the first 2-3 years of being employed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual candidates will be preferred (Spanish, Polish, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, French).
  • Knowledge or experience working with school age youth is desirable.
  • Media specialist, CPS, SAC, teaching certificate desirable.
  • Bicultural and all gender candidates are encouraged to apply.

ASYSST Mental Health Counselor/Therapist

History of the Position:

Available School Youth Services Support Team (ASYSST) has been working with the Ewing Public High School since 2007. The ASYSST team and therapist helps guide Ewing High School youth/students using prevention and positive directions towards accomplishing their personal and academic goals. The ASYSST team works together to provide support services to help students graduate high school, prepare for college or a job and make healthy choices that will benefit them in life. 

Salary Range:

$50,000.00 (based on experience level)

Metro Employee Assistance Program/Employee Assistance Program Therapist

History of the Position: 

MCADA has been providing in-person EAP therapy to area employers for 45 years. Unlike other National EAP programs, MCADA offers the option of teletherapy in addition to in-person therapy and has excellent connections to local area treatment centers.
